I am an artist, painter and crafty dude in my 40's interested in drawing, painting and in a variety of glass art. I have made artwork off and on for three decades, including nearly all 2-dimensional glass art forms spanning from copper foil & leaded glass art to fusing and mosaic glass art. I earned a BFA in 2002 with an emphasis on Painting and Drawing from The California College of the Arts, and prior to that studied at Glendale Community Colllege (with some former instructors from the old Otis Parsons in Downtown LA) and briefly at The Art Center in Pasadena. After College I sold work and did custom commissions in the Tahoe region, while substitute teaching and working construction. I felt frustrated with the "scenes", actually developed a physical reaction to art snobbery. I decided to spend my time building investments for the future, always feeling I would return to my crafty ways. My work is inspired by the post-impressionist, the glass windows of Marc Chagal, European sacred art and glass windows, 19th century European portraits and miniatures, Persian miniatures, and art of the Orient. My process is highly varied, allowing for imagination and spontaneity, yet is always focused and working towards its end. In 2013 I welcomed my beautiful son into my life and slowly started dabbling again with arts and crafts. After a LOOOONG break, I grew a more serious approach to my new work in 2020.
I live in Julian, CA.
