I am an artist and crafty guy interested in drawing, painting and a variety of glass art. I have made artwork off and on for three decades.  My interests include many glass art forms spanning from copper foil & leaded glass art to fusing, molding and mosaic glass art. I earned a BFA in 2002 with an emphasis on Painting and Drawing from The California College of the Arts, and prior to that studied at Glendale Community Colllege and briefly at The Art Center in Pasadena. In my 20's, I sold some work and did some custom commissions in the Tahoe region while part-time substitute teaching and working odd jobs. And, well after the winds of change blew me in a different direction, I put it all on the back burner. I decided to spend my time building investments for the future and involved myself in some business pursuits. I always felt that I would return to my crafty ways later in my life. After many years of barely working on my art and falling into a funky depression, I sold my big city lifestyle and overpriced home for some peace and quiet. I got the heck outta the rat race, choosing birdsongs over horns and sirens... so settled in the mountains east of San Diego. I have returned to part-time teaching and once again have begun trying to revamp my art interest.

I find inspiration from many places.  Some of the bigger interests of mine have been the work of the post-impressionist, modernists, post-modernists, some pop artists like Jasper Johns, the glass windows of Marc Chagal, European sacred art and glass windows, 19th century European portraits and miniatures, Persian and Dutch miniatures, and the art of the Orient. I am most inspired trying to define beauty and meaning in art, to explore the balance between the sensations of the image and feelings they impose on the mind, spirit and psyche.  In 2013, I welcomed my beautiful son into my life and this truly changed my life. He is my greatest achievement.  As he has grown older, he has inspired me to begin dabbling again with my arts and crafts in a more serious manner. So, I am trying to grow a new approach to my artwork.  I hope it develops into something he can be proud of.
